Nurse Lorrie Langfitt

At South Harrison, we are incredibly proud to recognize Nurse Lorrie Langfitt for her dedication and compassion. She has been named an honorable mention recipient of the Missouri Association of School Nurses’ (MASN) Outstanding Service of an LPN Award. This recognition is a testament to the impact she has on our students and staff every day.

Nurse Lorrie is the heart of student health at South Harrison. She goes above and beyond to make sure our kids have access to the care they need. This year, she helped bring Big Smiles Dental to our school, an in-school program that provides dental care right here on campus—at no cost to families. Thanks to her efforts, nearly 50 PreK through middle school students received dental treatment over a two-day period, helping to ensure that every child has a healthy smile.

She also works closely with local healthcare providers to meet students’ needs. Nurse Lorrie partners with Dr. Jack McCall at McCall Family Dentistry for yearly dental exams and has built connections with Bethany Eye Center to ensure students receive vision care when needed. She collaborates with the Harrison County Health Department to provide on-site vaccinations and works with Harrison County Community Hospital to help facilitate sports physicals for student-athletes in grades 5-12.

But Nurse Lorrie’s impact isn’t just about medical care—it’s about the way she cares. She has a special connection to the Helping Hands of Harrison County, always looking for ways to support students and families in need. Whether it’s handling everyday health concerns, coordinating vital services, or simply being a comforting presence, Nurse Lorrie makes a difference in the lives of so many.

Congratulations, Nurse Lorrie, on this well-deserved recognition! We are so grateful for your dedication and the kindness you bring to our school every day.
