The South Harrison Volleyball team wrapped up its 2024 season with an impressive 11-11-1 record, marking the second-most wins in program history. This accomplishment was driven by a strong combination of offensive power and defensive tenacity.
Six seniors anchored the Varsity squad this year, alongside a talented freshman and sophomore. The seniors brought leadership and energy that will be greatly missed on the court next season. Their efforts were pivotal to the team's achievements and created a fun, hardworking atmosphere.
Head Coach Lisa Cannon highlighted the team’s adaptability as a key strength. “One thing that impressed me with this team, at all levels, is how many girls could adjust and adapt to playing multiple positions depending on our competition or team needs,” she said. “They would say, ‘OK, coach,’ and did what they needed for the team with success. It was fun to be able to pull anything out of my hat to get the win.”
The team celebrated several milestones this season, including their first tournament victory. Individually, three athletes received All-District honors:
Ella Estes – 1st Team Middle & Outside Hitter
Aubree Cannon – 2nd Team Middle Hitter
Abigail Molloy – Honorable Mention Setter & Outside Setter
Coach Cannon expressed pride in the team’s effort and enthusiasm for the future of the volleyball program. “I look forward to continued growth in South Harrison Volleyball,” she shared. “If anyone is considering trying volleyball as a sport, come see what it’s all about this summer!”
