Girls Golf State 2024

The 2024 Lady Bulldogs Golf season ended with a 2nd Place finish at the MSHSAA Class 1 State Tournament, marking the second most successful season in school history. This achievement follows last year’s State Championship title.

The team dominated throughout the season, winning all but two 18-hole tournaments, securing a third consecutive conference title and a District Championship.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Junior Abby Owens, a consistent standout who has been instrumental in the team’s success. Abby is a three-time conference champion, a two-time district champion, and a three-time all-state golfer. Her leadership on and off the course has helped elevate the program to championship-level play over the past three seasons.

This year’s achievements were also shaped by an outstanding senior class—Ashlee Cannon, Chloe Hodge, and Gabby Clark. “Our program was blessed by some amazing seniors,” said Head Coach Kale Watson. “They have helped turn the girls golf program into a perennial postseason contender.”

Ashlee Cannon and Chloe Hodge leave behind an incredible legacy. Over the past three years, they played pivotal roles as the team earned three straight conference titles, a district runner-up finish, a district championship, and 1st and 2nd Place finishes at the state tournament. “We will miss them dearly,” Coach Watson said. “But we’re excited to see the mark they’ve left on the program and the path they’ve paved for the younger players.”

Looking ahead to the 2025 season, the Lady Bulldogs return a strong core led by Abby Owens and Ainsley Klindt. Both will step into key leadership roles, providing guidance to the younger players and anchoring the team’s performance on the course. “They will be leaned on heavily in the early part of the season to be stalwarts on the course and great leaders in practice,” Coach Watson noted.

The team will also welcome three new varsity players—Amber Criley, Berkley Glenn, and Emma Lake—who are ready to contribute to the team’s continued success.

“Our goal for next year will be no different than it has been in the past,” Coach Watson emphasized. “We will mark our success by getting 1% better every day, sticking to the process, and committing to every shot as much as the last one.”

With a blend of returning talent and new additions, the Lady Bulldogs are primed for another competitive season in 2025, determined to build upon their legacy as one of the top programs in school history.
