Due to incoming weather, South Harrison R-II School District will be closed Thursday, February 16, 2023.

Due to road conditions, South Harrison is closed Thursday, February 9, 2023.

South Harrison will close early for winter break tomorrow (December 21, 2022) at 1 PM. There will be no school on Thursday (December 22, 2022), and the district will be closed. This is due to possible incoming weather.

Spring Election Information

-South Harrison School District and the City of Bethany Police Department now have certified School Safety Specialists- Ashley McConkey and Eric Rimmer of the South Harrison R-II School District and the City of Bethany Police Department respectively have received certification as School Safety Specialists. Mrs. McConkey and Officer Rimmer participated in the recent School Safety Academy sponsored by Missouri School Boards' Association's Center for Education Safety. The event was held August 2022 in Jefferson City and was designed to train and certify school safety coordinators. School safety personnel from 45 school districts throughout the state attended the academy at no cost to local school districts. "It's essential that students, teachers and staff are in a safe learning environment," Center for Education Safety Director Amy Roderick said. "Schools must have processes and protocols in place and then have their staff trained to implement the practices and policies to ensure our students feel safe at school so they can focus on learning," she added. Topics at the School Safety Academy included support systems for behaviors, legal aspects of school safety, trauma-informed and mental health resources, intervention and de-escalation, emergency preparedness and plan building, behavioral risk and threat assessments, and cyber security fundamentals. The CES School Safety Academy includes the basic training needed to certify school safety coordinators with plans to expand to more advanced training and certification as the program builds and expands over the coming years.

South Harrison will hold a surplus auction on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 5:30 P.M. It will be held at our bus barn, 1471 Daily Road, Bethany, MO. See attached information.

Nextgen Music is visiting our middle school, high school and elementary school today to present an assembly to our students dealing with self-image, self-worth, and making good decisions. Thank you to Nextgen Music.

A reminder--for those fans traveling to Independance this evening for softball (Oct. 4)...there are no bleachers so please take along a lawn chair. Go Bulldogs!!

South Harrison held an intruder drill today at each of our buildings. Thank you to all law enforcement and emergency personnel for our training drill and ongoing committement to school safety.

South Harrison staff has returned today to prepare for the upcoming school year. South Harrison greatly appreciated the wonderful lunch provided by the First Baptist Church of Bethany. A geat way to begin the 2022-2023 school year!

2022-2023 Registration Information

The North Central Career Center is seeking applications for a secretary in the Director’s office for the 2022-2023 school year. This position is 9 ½ months, 35 hours per week with benefits. The secretary to the Career Center provides clerical and multi-media support to building staff and maintains records at a minimum. This person would have the ability to read and interpret documents, write simple correspondence, maintain and submit reports, collect and enter data, as well as speak with members of the public, students, and other staff members. Must be able to maintain school confidentiality. Other specific job duties available upon request. Must hold a minimum of a high school diploma and pass a background check.
